The Austintown Beautification Committee is raising money to build a beautiful gazebo to be located in Trustee Park for all of Mahoning Valley to enjoy and remember those who were lost in the 9.11 World Trade Tower disaster and The United States Pentagon. The Gazebo will be approximately 22 feet in diameter and will have engraved paver brick sidewalk and several park benches leading up to it.

Newark, Ohio, 911 Memorial

A four foot high granite monument at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center has the words: “In honor of the men and women of the Cleveland Center and those aboard Flight 93 for their heroic actions on September 11, 2001.” The monument is surrounded by a flagpole, flowers and granite benches. The center in Oberlin, Ohio, is about 25 miles west of Cleveland. The Center has monitored Flight 93 when it was hijacked over Ohio. The memorial was dedicated in 2002.
