“Morning Call” Osprey Sculpture Perches on Steel on Greenport Waterfront in Hamptons
Roberto Julio Bessin’s “Morning Call” osprey perches on a 20 foot tall WTC steel beam at the Greenport Yacht Club in the Hamptons and was dedicated in 2002.
The Morning Call replaced a landmark 40′ Bessin sculpture “The Heron” which was moved to Jamesport. Earlier the Heron had been moved to Greenport following a flap over whether it was an tower. Ultimately a court ruled it was a landmark. The scenic location has gotten many spectacular photos.
