New York State’s Firefighter Memorial Wall Was Just Dedicated in 1999

New York State Fallen Firefighter Memorial
The Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Albany is in Empire State Plaza commemorates those who fell (from 1811 on) and includes a wall honoring all fallen New York State fallen firefighters and was originally dedicated in 1998.

Robert Eccleston, Schuyler Falls, NY, designed bronze sculpture depicting two firefighters rescuing an injured firefighter-brother and dragging him away from the wall of death where the names of the fallen are inscribed. The stirring work of art is patinaed in black, with burnished highlights on the faces and the detail of the 1960’s turn-out gear. It was cast at the Tallix Foundry in Beacon, NY. The 54′ x 15′ Barre granite wall at the rear of the site was dedicated in 1999.
