![]()
The Journal News reports Hudson & Pacific Designs of Saugerties will create a memorial to New Castle’s three September 11 victims at the Bicentennial/Duck Pond Park in Chappaqua The idea to build a memorial in Chappaqua originated with Michael Wolfensohn, a town resident who was friends with Inghilterra. He raised money, developed a design and proposed to build the memorial at the Duck Pond. The town originally approved the memorial there but then rescinded it when neighbors complained about the location and lack of public input in choosing a memorial. A lawsuit was filed against the Town Board by opponents but was later dismissed. Two small sections from the WTC have been awarded.
