I was greatly disappointed by your categorizing the NY Post article about my 6-year-old son and other citizens, who were passionate about their concepts for a WRC memorial as “crazies” as well as the NY Times as “poking fun” at them. Having been at the meeting and having interacted with the reporters, they clearly had nothing of the kind in mind. There is no problem with quoting the articles, but publishing such opinionated slurs detracts from your organization’s credibility. Leave the quotes from the articles on your website, but PLEASE remove the nasty comments. By the way, look up my 6-year-old’s submission on the LMDC’s renewnyc.org website (search for the name Belgorod). When you see the dignified and moving submission and read the text (and I implore you to take the time to do so), I think you will be moved to remove the slurs, relating to my son (and others), from your website.

Please take down the WTC “miracle debris” cross, as it is irreverent
to non-Christians (particularly those who lost non-Christian loved
ones on 9/11). It is ethically shifty to push religion in such a way.
The WTC Memorial Foundation and the local government should be
ashamed of this opportunistic support of religious bias.

Thank you for hearing this message with an open mind towards those of various backgrounds.

Religion is personal, not a tool to be used for political gain. The separation of Church and State is what our forefathers willingly lost their family fortunes and died for. Religious freedom is what brought the pilgrims to our Country. Please do not forget that is un-American to merge church and state.

Sad to see shortfall in NYS collecting only $150k in nontaxable contributions for WTC. Personally I didn’t contribute and had no idea there was such a contribution, until today. I filed taxes using H&R Block. Badly advertised. I see that WTC Memorial Foundation President Gretchen Dykstra earns $350k / yr . She should make up the shortfall, since she didn’t advertise properly. She also should resign as incompetent.

I think that the twin towers must be rebuild bigger and stronger than before because it will signal to the terrorists that they have not won the war on terror. If you want to win the war on terror then rebuild the twin towers if you want to lose the war on terror than build the freedom tower

I agree with the fireman’s sister who is sleeping outside in protest of this underground memorial. This will be endangering the lives of all who go to view the memorial and go in a confined underground environment– beauty and unusual design should not be priority over human lives safety. God bless the fireman’s sister for taking a stand and bringing attention to this very important matter.

The Release of Souls Memorial is truly a fitting memorial for the public safety personnel that made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty as well as for the civilians from 82 countries that were lost on 9/11.

We are accepting uniform patches and department badges to be applied the 18 ft tall X 25.5 ft wide, 6000 lb memorial. The patches will be displayed on a 24 ft memorial wall, front and back.

Together we can tell the survivors and families that lost co-workers and friends, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, aunts and uncles, mothers and fathers, that they are not alone and “We Remember” and we will “NEVER FORGET!”
